We have been in contact with the coordinator of the Athletic Track in regard to our carnival on Friday. The normal spectator section is out of action as they are building a new stand which we will look forward to using next year. The area that they are using for spectators on the other side of the field is now very boggy due to the rain and the traffic it has had so it would be a very unpleasant place for spectators. The inside field where we play the rotation games is also extremely wet.
Because of the conditions and forecast rain, we will not go ahead with the carnival as planned. As this may be our only chance to select students for the next level in Athletics, we will look to go ahead with selection trials on Friday for children who are keen to try out for the next level and are turning 8 or older this year. This will be your choice as parents for children in Years 2-6.
Kinder and Year 1 will have classes as usual on Friday and the children in Years 2-6 who stay at school will have a mixture of activities through the day. There will be a note coming home today for the students in Years 2-6 and we will need the notification of what your child will be doing back tomorrow so we can plan teachers for Friday. All children are welcome to wear their sports uniform on Friday.
There will be no barbeque at the track and no canteen at school on the day. If there is heavy rain on Friday we will call off the trial event and will post a message on the school app and on the website at 7.30 am.
